Actress July Janssen, born in 1994 in the Netherlands, possesses a unique international appearance thanks to her Scottish roots. Inspired by a touching scene in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape," she decided to become an actress at the age of twelve.
For 15 years, July has immersed herself in various acting techniques, including Method Acting, Meisner Technique, Stanislavski's System, and Uta Hagen’s Technique. She earned her diploma from the "Film Actors Academy Amsterdam" (faaam) in 2016, followed an additional master's year in 2019, and has since continuously developed herself by participating in various workshops and masterclasses.
July's career is rich and varied. She has appeared in variousfilms and series such as "Het leven Is Vurrukkulluk" directed by Frans Weisz, "April May, and June" directed by Will Koopman, and series like "Flikken Rotterdam," "De Spa," and "GTST."
Recently, she played as Chloë in "Loverboy Amsterdam" directed by Cyriel Guds, portrayed a dual role in "Laatste Dagen" directed by Maartje Seyferth and Victor Nieuwenhuijs, and her versatility is well showcased in the role of Ila, a homeless drug addict, in "In Love Again," directed by Morgan Grunefeld.
Her approach to acting focuses on deep understanding and embodiment of her characters. July's method integrates thorough script analysis with physical and emotional dimensions, and she has received recognition for her authentic and layered portrayals.
Off the camera, July is adventurous, with interests inmotorcycling, archery, and nature. She strives to portray characters that are emotionally and physically challenging and have a profound impact on the audience.

BIOGRAPHY
Actress July Janssen, born in 1994 in the Netherlands, possesses a unique international and androgynous appearance, partly due to her Scottish roots. Inspired by a moving scene in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, she knew at the age of twelve that she wanted to become an actress.
For over 15 years, July has trained in a wide range of acting techniques, including Method Acting, the Meisner Technique, Stanislavski’s System, and Uta Hagen’s Technique. She graduated from the Film Actors Academy Amsterdam (faaam) in 2016 and completed an additional master’s year in 2019. Since then, she has continued her professional development through numerous workshops and masterclasses in voice, movement, and screen performance.
July’s playing age ranges from 20 to 35, and her versatility allows her to take on a wide spectrum of roles — from vulnerable to fierce, intimate to physical.
Her screen credits include Het leven is verrukkulluk, April, May and June, De Club van 5, Flikken Rotterdam, De Spa, GTST, and the Star Wars-inspired fan film Remnants of the Order.
In recent years, she starred as Chloë in Loverboy Amsterdam, played a dual role in
Last Days (a resistance fighter and a Jewish girl in hiding), portrayed Ila — a homeless, drug-addicted woman — in In Love Again, and took on the role of Fay in the gritty feature
Rebel Dogs.
Known for her grounded yet emotionally resonant performances, July seeks roles that explore human complexity and vulnerability. Whether in drama, action, or dark comedy, she is drawn to stories that challenge her — physically, emotionally, and creatively.
Off screen, July is adventurous and physically skilled. She rides motorcycles, practices archery and climbing, and has basic firearms experience — all of which support her ability to perform in physically demanding roles. She also draws, paints, and is currently developing a new podcast about the acting industry. July serves on the education committee of ACT (the Dutch actors’ union) and is passionate about meaningful storytelling and artistic collaboration.
